The Black Belt Diploma Program is an exciting journey of self discovery and personal growth. The five guiding principles or ‘tenets’ have a huge impact on everyday life. Students develop personal attributes such as:

The benefits of Tae Kwon-Do are numerous and the syllabus allows for all levels of ability to mature at their own rate. Regular assessments are available as you progress through a structured scheme of work taught by qualified instructors. This is an excellent opportunity to discover who you really are, and shape yourself into who you want to be.

Program details
On average, students can achieve Black Belt status in 42 months. The use of external assessors ensure high standards are maintained, and that students during all stages of their development can genuinely believe that they are worthy of the belt they wear. The course covers not only the physical attributes which are integral to the martial artist, but also mental discipline, philosophy, physiology and self discovery.

The Black Belt Diploma can give you a strong foundation in preparing yourself for confrontations in the modern world. For many, carrying an air of confidence in the way you walk or talk can create an effective barrier to ‘would-be attackers.’ This confidence is not a gift granted to the few, but can be learned by the many. As your proficiency in the martial arts grows, so too will your confidence. At the core of this confidence are the techniques and skills you have learned in a safe and controlled environment. Much like driving a car, you will at first learn techniques slowly, and then apply them almost without thinking. By practising a martial art in a Dojang you will also have the opportunity to test your skills on partners of varying height and gender. In this way you can develop an awareness of what techniques would really work against a range of opponents.

Self defence can range from taking two deep breaths in order to control your tone of voice (thereby calming the opponent down), to controlled and effective strikes at key joints. To the minority of students who have been unable to avoid violence either at school, or on a night out, they have often remarked on how glad they were to have studied a martial art. Their body took over in a time of stress and did what it had to do to get away safely.

The Black Belt program develops a stronger person, both physically and
mentally, someone who is more able to cope with real life situations such as:

Life Skills are embedded into both the main lessons and practical workshops, with a particular emphasis made on practicing scenarios before they occur in the real world. A true martial artist is aware of the need to train the mind as much as the body. In stressful situations it is the mind which can freeze, making a mockery of peoples physical abilities.
